Italy’s Green, White, Red

Among the flags of the world, the design of the Italian flag is one of the easiest to recognize and remember. Because of its simplicity and perhaps the choice of colors, the green, white, red is not hard to miss. The three colors on the Italian flag always evoke a very visual image in my mind. Whenever I see the flag, the three top reasons I always come back to Italy come to mind.

Green. Italy has a sensational landscape with rolling hills, numerous vast vineyards and formal gardens in almost every region of the peninsula.

A wine enthusiast or not, one will definitely enjoy the scenery and the experience that is Italy’s vineyards. Famous for its wine, Italy produces wine in almost all of its regions. Take a tour, sample the wines, but make sure to check the schedules of the wineries because unlike in Napa Valley, they don’t have tasting rooms with regular operating hours.

Formal gardens, highly influenced by the Roman and Italian Renaissance gardens whose main principle is establishing order on nature with perfect symmetry and geometry, are also a sight to behold. Once you have seen one, you would want to see them all. The perfection of these gardens is so breathtaking, they will leave you in awe.
